Environmental Protection & Livelihoods
The Resilience Action Organization's (RAO) Environmental Protection & Livelihoods Program takes a two-pronged approach to building a sustainable future. We empower young people to become environmental stewards while fostering economic opportunities for families in need.
KEY INITIATIVES:
- School Tree Planting Program: Led by children, this initiative promotes environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility for protecting the environment.
- Environmental Education: We integrate environmental education into the tree planting program, fostering a deeper understanding of ecological sustainability.
- Vocational Training: Equip identified households with valuable vocational skills to enhance their employability and income-generating potential.
- VSLA Training: We train participants on the principles of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), promoting financial literacy and access to microloans for starting or expanding small businesses.
- Financial Literacy Workshops: Provide participants with the knowledge and skills to manage their finances effectively, leading to financial stability.
- IGA Support (Income Generating Activities): Offer support, such as microgrants or seed capital, to help families establish or grow income-generating activities, fostering self-sufficiency.
